Emilia Monachino, DVM with a feline friendA Rochester NY native, Dr. Monachino received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She was a 2002 graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Monachino remained dedicated to continuing her education and in 2010, she was proud to receive certification from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners for Canine and Feline Practice.

Dr. Monachino strongly believes in staying current in available medical diagnostics and treatment options. She feels that medicine needs to be tailored to each individual patient. Dr. Monachino enjoys working with cats, dogs, small mammals, birds, reptiles, and occasionally other exotic species. Her primary veterinary interests include internal medicine, preventative care, and ultrasound. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS), and also maintains USDA-APHIS veterinary accreditation.

In her free time, Dr. Monachino can be found practicing Aikido, reading fiction, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband and their two children. She also has two adorable longhaired cats, Lizzie and Puffy.
